The New York Giants are incredibly shorthanded for their Week 6 matchup with the New England Patriots. They’ll be without tight end Evan Engram, running backs Saquon Barkley and Wayne Gallman, and wide receiver Sterling Shepard.

Engram was ruled out due to a knee injury suffered in Week 5. It is described as an MCL sprain, which could mean more than one week of missed football. Rhett Ellison will start in his place for the time being.

Fantasy football analysis, New York Giants TE Evan Engram

Quarterback Daniel Jones is going to be in a rough situation without all of these players. Rhett Ellison is a fantasy option if you’re truly desperate at the tight end. And if you’re that desperate, there are probably better tight ends on the waiver wire.

The bigger question for Engram is how long he’ll sit with the knee injury. An MCL sprain is usually not a day-to-day injury, so this will be something to track heading into Week 7 practice reports.
