Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon injury status update, 6:55 p.m.
The Patriots released their inactives for Week 6 Thursday Night Football, and they will have wide receivers Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon active. They don’t exactly need all their weapons against a struggling Giants squad, but it certainly helps. Rex Burkhead and Phillip Dorsett are inactive. Edelman and Gordon are both strong starts in a game that could see the Patriots get going early. Even if they run things down with a big lead in the second half, look for the Patriots passing game to click early.
The New England Patriots face what should be an easy win in Week 6 against the New York Giants, but nonetheless, they’re a little banged up heading into Thursday Night Football. The team announced that wide receivers Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon are both listed as questionable for the game, while Phillip Dorsett has been ruled out.
Dorsett suffered a hamstring injury this past Sunday against Washington, and sat out all three practices. Gordon has been on the injury report with a foot issue dating back to last week, while Edelman has been on the report with a chest injury since Week 4.
Fantasy football analysis, Patriots WRs Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon
This might be played like a game-time decision, but Edelman and Gordon should play on Thursday. Even in a game where the Patriots running backs should be busy in a blowout, both Edelman and Gordon are solid fantasy starts. The Giants have given up the second most fantasy points to wide receivers, and I suspect we see the Patriots push up the score early. They might rest their starters late, but they’ll be busy enough in the first half that Edelman and Gordon will get plenty of opportunities to produce.
