Fantasy football owners got some good news from the Carolina Panthers on Friday. The team removed running back Christian McCaffrey from their injury report, according to Panthers reporter Max Henson, and he appears good to go for Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
McCaffrey did not practice on Wednesday, and it was listed as a back injury. He practiced in full on Thursday and Friday, and so we now know it was a maintenance day, and we can probably expect to see this more regularly in upcoming weeks.
Fantasy football analysis, Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey
McCaffrey fantasy owners can take a breath, while owners opposing him can go back to worrying about what kind of ridiculous numbers he might put up in Week 6. The Panthers and Bucs square off in London, and it’s safe to say CMC will be a busy man.
Quarterback Kyle Allen had a monster debut in place of Cam Newton, but has struggled in recent weeks. He’ll continue looking to CMC as his go-to playmaker. D.J. Moore, Curtis Samuel, and Greg Olsen will all get opportunities against a bad Bucs defense, but CMC is the guy who will run wild. He’s a must-start, and is currently the best consistent top option in all fantasy football leagues.
