Alvin Kamara injury update 3:58 p.m.
The Saints released their final injury report, and running back Alvin Kamara is listed as questionable, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport. Kamara was limited in practice on Thursday and missed Friday’s session with an ankle injury. He had practiced in full on Wednesday, so this was a practice development. If he is unable to go, Latavius Murray would get the start vs. the Jaguars in Week 6.
The New Orleans Saints face growing questions as running back Alvin Kamara remained sidelined at practice in Week 6. Kamara was not on the injury report on Wednesday, but then showed up on Thursday as a limited participant. He was absent from the open portion of Friday’s practice, per beat writer Mike Triplett, and head coach Sean Payton did not offer any details as to why.
It’s worth noting Latavius Murray was also not practicing, but Payton said his absence was not injury related. If Kamara cannot play, Murray would get the start against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Fantasy football analysis, Saints RB Alvin Kamara
One day absent is one thing, but a second day is concerning. Add in Sean Payton not offering elaboration yet, and it raises some red flags. This could turn into a game-time decision. The game is at 1:00 p.m., so that gives you time to adjust, but Kamara fantasy owners don’t want to lose him at this point in the season.
If Kamara is out, Murray is a strong start. The Jaguars defense is talented, but there is room to run against it. If Kamara is active and starts, there is still the concern that he is not 100 percent and thus might lose some snaps to Murray. You’d still have to start Kamara, but you’d want to lower expectations a little bit.
