Spread picks for every NFL game in Week 6

It was a solid Week 5 for my picks against the spread after two straight abysmal weeks. Can I make it back-to-back weeks over .500? We’ll see. Here are all 14 of my picks against the spread for Week 6.

Week 6 of the 2019 NFL season is officially underway! The New England Patriots started slow against the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football, but they pulled away late and covered the 16.5-point spread. Sunday NFL action gets going early today with some breakfast football in London between the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We have six games in the 1:00 p.m. slot and four in the 4:05/4:25 slot, so it’s a nice, full day of football.

I bounced back in Week 5 after a pair of tough weeks. I’ll need to string a few more weeks like that together, but my 9-5-1 performance brings me up to 37-40-1 for the season. Not great, but it’s an improvement.

This week, we get a huge NFC West matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams, while South Florida is the site of the first 2019 Toilet Bowl. The Miami Dolphins host Washington, with the early edge for No. 1 in the 2020 NFL Draft on the line. It says a lot about Miami that Washington is a 3.5-point road favorite!

I’ve made some wagers heading into the weekend, and while I did not get big advantages, I jumped on what I liked. I’ve got the Eagles at +3 against the Vikings. The line has moved to Vikings 3.5, which kind of surprised me. I think Kirk Cousins against any team that is not a trash defense is a fun one to bet against.

I grabbed the Falcons at -2 against the Cardinals, and that line has moved to 2.5. It’s not a huge difference without a better hook, but I can live with it. I think the Falcons are a bit undervalued while the Cardinals are overvalued. The Falcons aren’t good, but I think they can go on the road and win this one.

I also teased Rams over the 49ers down to 2.5 points from 3.5. I think the 49ers are a bit overvalued in this spot, and as much as I love my 49ers, the loss of Kyle Juszczyk and Mike McGlinchey this past week is a tough one. That being said, I think we see a tight divisional battle. If this line had been Rams -3, I would have felt a little more comfortable and willing to accept a potential push. But 3.5? No dice.
