At this point the most interesting thing about A.J. Green’s season is the constant buzz of trade rumors. He’s been on the shelf since hurting his ankle in July, and that’s where he’ll be once again this week when the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC North matchup.
There is some good news, really, for Green this week, beyond the trade rumors. He actually practiced this week, including running sprints. That’s the first on-field activity he’s had with the team since this summer. Officially, he was listed as a limited participant. That’s great news for both the player and the team ... not to mention the few loyal fantasy owner who’ve held onto him this long. He’ll run routes before this week’s game, and there’s a chance that he’ll be back in the lineup next week.
Fantasy football analysis, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green
Despite the team’s insistence that they won’t trade him, Green’s potential return coincides nicely with the NFL trade deadline, giving him a game to show potential suitors that he’s healthy enough to contribute this season. From a fantasy perspective, you might want to wait even if he is back next week. The Bengals play two tough defenses, the Jaguars and the Rams, in Week 7 and 8.
As for this week, Tyler Boyd will continue as the Bengals No. 1 receiver, but he might find it to be tough going against teh Ravens defense.
