Week 7 will again have four teams on a bye, which include the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh’s rookie Linebacker, Devin Bush, has been nothing short of amazing totaling 52 combined tackles, one sack, two interceptions and one fumble recovery for a touchdown. The other rookie standout in Tampa Bay, Devin White, returned from his injury last week and lead his team with nine combined tackles on 98.5% of the snaps. Another important week to hit the waiver wire, here are your priority adds this week.
Johnathan Allen, DT, Washington
Allen now has three sacks over his last two games and gets a plus matchup going up against the San Francisco 49ers, who are first in rush attempts per game (39) and seventh in fantasy points given up to defensive tackles this season. The Washington offense ranks 31st in average time of possession while the 49ers rank second in the same category giving ample opportunity for Allen and his teammates to rack up fantasy points.
Notables: Demarcus Walker, DE, Denver Broncos
Alexander (A.J.) Johnson, LB, Denver Broncos
Johnson got the start in Denver with Josey Jewell’s injury back in week 4 and never looked back recording 17 combined tackles and 1.5 sacks over his last two games. Johnson has taken the starting job away from Jewell and has averaged 90% of the snaps in back-to-back weeks. He’ll get a tough matchup Thursday night against the Chiefs who’ve given up the least amount of fantasy points to opposing linebackers, but it’s rare to get a starting linebacker who can make as big of an impact as Johnson has in just two games. Scoop him up and enjoy.
Notables: Troy Reeder, LB, Los Angeles Rams
Janoris Jenkins, CB, New York Giants
Play all your defensive backs against the Atlanta Falcons who are still ranked first giving up the most fantasy points to the defensive back position. Jenkins has now been targeted the ninth most times this season (39), is inside the top-25 in solo tackles (24) and first in interceptions at his position (3).
Notables: Isaiah Oliver, CB, Atlanta Falcons, Brian Poole, CB, New York Jets
