Author’s Note: 10/19/19 8:15 am.: With the Thursday night game behind us and the Friday injury reports completed, we have updated the Week 7 wide receiver rankings for standard leagues. Amari Cooper has been added after reports suggest he will play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Allen Lazard is the only Green Bay Packer currently ranked, though Marquez Valdes-Scantling still has a shot to play. Tyrell Williams is out and unranked as is Josh Gordon. Baltimore receiver, Marquise Brown, is still battling an ankle injury and isn’t expected to play against the Seattle Seahawks.
Wide receiver (standard) rankings update 10/17 4:45 pm.
Week 7 rankings were updated to reflect the latest practice reports. As expected, Sammy Watkins is out of his Thursday night game. Josh Gordon has yet to resume practice so Phillip Dorsett has been moved up. Nearly every starting Green Bay Packers receiver is dealing with some sort of issue. Allen Lazard is the only notable Green Bay wide out that may play and is currently the only Packer in the rankings. Baltimore Ravens receiver, Marquise Brown, has not practiced and has been removed from the rankings. Amari Cooper plans to practice on Friday and could be added to the rankings if his outlook improves.
I certainly hope you either played Stefon Diggs or avoided playing against him. Diggs set a career high with 3 touchdowns and 167 yards receiving. And that was with Adam Thielen also having a good day. Robby Anderson benefited from Sam Darnold’s return in a big way and Golden Tate also came up big in his second game back. Overall, Week 6 was great for receivers finding their groove.
Injuries to note heading into Week 7 starts with Davante Adams who continues to battle turf toe. Amari Cooper and Josh Gordon had to exit their games early so we will monitor their practice reports before adding them to the weekly rankings. It’s going to be a tough week to find receivers with so many quality options on bye like: Odell Beckham Jr., Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. We’ll also be without D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel who have both been very effective without Cam Newton.
With Amari Cooper looking iffy to play it would be a good week to fire up Michael Gallup against the woeful Philadelphia Eagles secondary. The New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals game could be a great game to focus on in Week 7. Neither defense is stopping wide receivers so Golden Tate, Larry Fitzgerald are solid options and if they are healthy enough to play, Sterling Shepard and Christian Kirk could be worth a start.
