Top 25 TEs in Week 7 fantasy football [UPDATE]

The 2019 fantasy football season is half over. We are going to keep you in the running with Week 7 rankings for tight ends in standard leagues.

Author’s Note: 10/19/19 8:45 am.: Following the Thursday night game and the release of the Friday injury reports we’ve updated Week 7 rankings. Jared Cook is out of his contest against the Chicago Bears and it’s Jeremy Sprinkle time with Vernon Davis being ruled out. Finally, Delanie Walker has been lowered to TE 25 after being labeled questionable to play against the Los Angeles Chargers. He may still play, but Jonnu Smith is now a legitimate option this week.

Tight end rankings update 10/17 7:20 pm.

Jared Cook will be a shaky start this week if he can’t get in a limited practice Friday. He has been lowered in the rankings. Vernon Davis has been limited, but should play in a revenge game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Welcome back Hunter Henry! The oft injured Charger returned to action and rewarded those willing to take the risk with 100 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns. Unfortunately, we also may have to say goodbye to the surprisingly effective tight end, Will Dissly, whom the Seahawks believe may have ended his season with an Achilles injury.

Tight end is already a tough position to address and things get more difficult this week with Greg Olsen, O.J. Howard, Cameron Brate and Vance McDonald on bye. We’re hoping to get Evan Engram back from his knee injury, but there is no guarantee he returns against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7. We’ve also added two players to the rankings: the much-hyped Chris Herndon of the New York Jets and the New England Patriots resigned Ben Watson for his 32nd NFL season!

If you’re putting together your lineup early this week a sneaky tight end play could be Dallas Goedert. He plays the Dallas Cowboys who can be beaten by tight ends. Goedert has 11 targets over the past 2 weeks and he should be relatively inexpensive on DraftKings. Also, don’t be afraid to double dip in the Hunter Henry bowl. Tennessee’s defense has given up the 8th most points to tight ends this season and Philip Rivers loves to use Henry as a security blanket.
