The Buffalo Bills returned from their bye week and have begun preparations for a Week 7 matchup against the woeful Miami Dolphins. The team announced their first practice participation report for the week, and rookie running back Devin Singletary was a full participant on Wednesday.
Singletary injured his hamstring in Week 2 and had not played since. He was listed as limited in practice in Week 5, but the team decided to give him the bye week to get back at or close to 100 percent. Barring a setback the next two days, Singletary would appear to be on track to play on Sunday vs. the Dolphins.
Fantasy football analysis, Dolphins RBs Devin Singletary, Frank Gore
If Singletary plays, this turns back into a platoon situation. Gore has looked solid in place of Singletary, but the rookie brings a solid complement to the veteran. In Week 1, Singletary rushed for 70 yards on four carries and caught five receptions for 28 yards. In Week 2, he had six rushes for 57 yards and a touchdown before his injury.
Singletary was averaging 12.7 yards per carry before the injury, so I think we can safely say he’ll get opportunities if he plays this weekend. And considering how bad Miami is, the game script could be perfect for big games for both Singletary and Gore. The bigger question is the remaining ten games after Sunday. Singletary is the bigger upside guy, and considering his first two weeks, could quickly develop the better floor than Gore. But don’t expect Gore to lose his touches that easily. It could easily turn into a 50/50 split fairly quickly.
