Saquon Barkley injury status 10/18 12:37 p.m.
The Giants held their final practice of Week 7, and running back Saquon Barkley practiced fully. He was removed from the final injury report so he is set to go for Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. This means Wayne Gallman loses all of his fantasy value, while Daniel Jones gets a boost with one of the best running backs in the game returning to action.
The New York Giants host the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7, and it looks more and more like the Giants will have their stud running back on the field. Saquon Barkley has been out since suffering a high ankle sprain injury in Week 3, but he has been a full participant in practice this week.
Barkley awaits the Giants medical staff formally clearing him, but if it was up to him, he’d be out there this Sunday. Barkley met with the media on Thursday and while he admitted he is taking things day-to-day, he said there was no doubt in his mind that his ankle would hold up fine in a game, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.
Fantasy football analysis, Giants RB Saquon Barkley
If you’ve been sitting on Barkley since his high ankle sprain, you will likely have a chance to start him this weekend against the Cardinals. And there is no reason to sit him if he’s active. The Cardinals have given up the 11th fewest fantasy points to running backs, but that’s no reason to sit Barkley.
And of course, condolences to Wayne Gallman owners. People pounced on him on waivers, and basically got one full game from the add. He suffered a concussion in Week 5 and sat out Week 6. Barkley’s return will slot him back to a backup role with no fantasy value.
