Top 50 WR standard options for Week 5 fantasy football

Some unexpected names stepped up at the wide receiver position in Week 4. We break down the names to look for in Week 5 standard leagues.

Author’s updated 10/5 12:50 p.m.: Following the release of Friday’s practice reports we have updated our rankings. Davante Adams has been ruled out and removed from the rankings. Several other players who logged limited practices have been moved down. We’ve also added Golden Tate and Mecole Hardman to the top 50.

Editor’s update 10/3 6:20 p.m.: Injury reports have resulted in some adjustments to our weekly rankings. Christian Kirk is not expected to play this weekend for the Arizona Cardinals. T.Y. Hilton is expected to play as he returns from a quad injury, and returns to must-start status.

Congratulations if you were hip to Chris Godwin before the 2019 season started. The young Tampa Bay wide receiver is no longer a secret after a scorching hot 4 weeks which he highlighted with a 2 touchdown 172 yard receiving effort on Sunday. In the same game but opposite team, Robert Woods finally had a top 10 game even with Cooper Kupp having a better day. Jarvis Landry also came alive in Week 4 with his best game of the season, going for 167 yards.

TY Hilton and Mike Williams missed their Week 4 contests and their Week 5 status is currently uncertain. Davante Adams also suffered an injury late in his Thursday game so you’ll need to monitor his practice reports and prepare to elevate Geronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling up your rankings. Golden Tate is also now active after serving a four-game suspension. Sterling Shepard has looked sharp in recent games so it will be interesting to see how both are deployed with Daniel Jones at quarterback. The Miami Dolphins are on a bye which isn’t too alarming, but so are the Detroit Lions which removes both Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. from the available options.

Allen Robinson will be in a good position for a big day in Week 5 if Mitchell Trubisky can suit up for an away game against the Oakland Raiders. I also like Juju Smith-Schuster’s matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Mason Rudolph will still be the quarterback but hopefully the Steelers will be forced to throw the ball downfield more often this Sunday.

On to our Week 5 fantasy football rankings for wide receivers in standard leagues.
