The Washington Nationals advanced out of the National League Wild Card Game with a dramatic 4-3 win, and now face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2019 National League Divisional Series. The series gets going Thursday evening at 8:37 p.m. at Dodger Stadium, airing on TBS. The Dodgers won the season series 4-3.
The Nationals faced the Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card Game, and advanced thanks to a three-run rally in the eighth inning. The Brewers were cruising with a 3-1 lead against Max Scherzer before outfielder Juan Soto singled to right field in the eighth, and a key error allowed three runs to score.
The Dodgers finished with the best record in baseball, going 106-56. They’ll send out Clayton Kershaw at Dodger Stadium, followed by Hyun-Jin Ryu and Walker Buehler. The 93-69 Nationals will likely send out Patrick Corbin in Game 1, Anibal Sanchez in Game 2, Max Scherzer in Game 3, and Stephen Strasburg in Game 4. If the Nationals can split the first two games, it gets interesting with the top of their rotation.
LA is a fairly sizable favorite to win this series. DraftKings Sportsbook installed them at -210 to advanced past the Nationals, who are at +173. By comparison, the Braves are installed at -134 to beat the Cardinals (+112).
