The Pittsburgh Steelers are playing on a short week after Monday Night Football, and that means banged up players are getting a light practice load on Wednesday. Running back James Conner and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster were both DNPs for the first practice of Week 5.
Conner suffered an ankle sprain in the Monday night win, and head coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged on Tuesday that he would be limited this week. Smith-Schuster was not mentioned after the game, but is listed as a DNP due to a toe issue.
Fantasy football analysis of Steelers RB James Conner, WR JuJu Smith-Schuster
Given the short week, it’s hard to put too much into these practice reports. The big question will be whether or not Conner and JuJu show up as DNPs Thursday or Friday. If they get in at least limited work, they would seem to be in good shape to play on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. It’s a solid matchup for them with the Ravens defense struggling to find consistency. Both would be must-starts if active, so we’ll keep an eye out over the next two days.
