Editor’s update: Mitchell Trubisky is expected to play today, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

One look at the Week 7 NFL injury report might leave you wondering if the Chicago Bears will have quarterback Mitchell Trubisky in uniform this week. He is officially listed as questionable, still recovering from the shoulder injury that knocked him out of Chicago’s Week 5 game against the Vikings. However, all signs point to Trubisky playing this week, so worry not, unless you’re thinking about starting him in a fantasy league.

Trubisky was full participant in practice every day this week. And while we don’t have anything official, that’s tells you pretty much all you need to know about his status against the Saints.

Fantasy football analysis, Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky

All that third-season breakthrough talk seems to have been misplaced and overly optimistic. Trubisky is having a terrible season. He’s got a grand total of three touchdown passes, all of which came in a glorified practice game against Washington. The only thing positive about his stats is the 65 percent completion rate, but even that gets undercut by the fact that he’s averaging a measly 5.5 yards per attempt.

So, yeah, he’s healthy enough to play this week, but you shouldn’t even be considering it, regardless of the format. The Saints have a pretty good defense, and that’s enough to know that the Bears QB just isn’t going to put up numbers this week.
