The Los Angeles Rams’ running back situation is kind of a pain in the rear. This week, it will require even more careful attention given the injury situations for both Todd Gurley and Malcolm Brown. However, if you do make the right choice, it could end up being a very lucrative one for your fantasy lineup this week.
Let’s start with Brown. With Gurley on the shelf last week, Brown was the main man in the backfield. Unfortunately, that didn’t amount to much. The Rams’ offense was stuck in the mud, and it held back Brown’s production. Now, Brown is listed as doubtful for this week’s game against the Falcons, making it unlikely that he’ll play at all.
Without Brown, that means more work for Gurley, but it is worth noting that Gurley — who missed last week’s game with a thigh injury — was limited in practice this week. He did not show up on the final injury report though.
Fantasy football analysis, Los Angeles Rams RBs Todd Gurley and Malcolm Brown
Brown’s doubtful, so focus on Gurley. This has the potential to be a very good week for him. The Falcons don’t do well against pass-catching running backs. Plus, the Rams offense really, really needs a spark, and Atlanta’s defense could be just the thing.
Gurley’s own injury history is always a concern. But he’s a decent buy at $6,400 this week in DK leagues.
