Julian Edelman, Phillip Dorsett injury status update
The Patriots released their game day inactives and Julian Edelman and Phillip Dorsett are both ACTIVE. Edelman is a must start, and if you were waiting to see what would happen with Dorsett, you can start him. They face a New York Jets secondary that is not good, and with Josh Gordon and Rex Burkhead inactive, both are great starts on Monday Night Football.
Julian Edelman update 10/21, 5:13 p.m.
Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has arrived at MetLife Stadium for Monday Night Football. He’s going through pre-game workouts, but he is all but certain to play in spite of his questionable designation. He’s dealing with a chest injury, but should be active. He has a great matchup against the shaky Jets secondary and is a must start in fantasy football.
The New England Patriots will be without wide receiver Josh Gordon in Week 7 against the New York Jets due to a knee injury, and that results in some scrambling for fantasy football owners. Add in Phillip Dorsett and Julian Edelman both listed as questionable, and it’s a messy Monday evening.
Edelman seems a strong bet to play given the way he works through injuries. Dorsett is a tougher call, and if he does not play, that opens the door for Jakobi Meyers to get slot snaps. In Gordon’s place, Gunner Olszewski is likely to get a bump into the starting lineup.
Fantasy football analysis, Patriots WRs Julian Edelman & Phillip Dorsett
Meyers and Olszewski are not viable fantasy options outside of the deepest of leagues. The question comes down to Edelman and Dorsett — well, Dorsett. Edelman is all but certain to play, even as a questionable player, and he’s a must start in all formats. You will likely want to pass on playing Dorsett given his injury status and the game taking place on Monday.
