The New England Patriots offensive skill position players have been a walking wounded group. Rex Burkhead continues to be questionable with a foot injury, Julian Edelman’s chest injury remains an issue, and Phillip Dorsett is questionable with his hamstring injury. Added to that, the team has ruled out Josh Gordon due to a knee injury.
Gordon left last week’s game with the injury, and while it does not sound like a long-term issue, it’s costing him at least one game. Gunner Olszewski can get some outside work in his place, but the team could need to do some shuffling depending on Dorsett’s game status.
Fantasy football analysis, Patriots WRs Josh Gordon, Gunner Olszewski, Jakobi Meyers
The Patriots moved Edelman out wide when Dorsett was sidelined. Olszewski would appear to take Gordon’s spot, but it’s hard to see him cutting much into the targets Edelman and Meyers got last week. And if Dorsett is able to play, Dorsett will move back in and take plenty of targets of his own.
The Jets secondary is not good, so it adds some value down the line. Edelman is a must start while Olszewski is not worth starting. Dorsett is the tough call if he plays. The bigger problem is that it’s a Monday game, so you won’t know his status until potentially too late. If you have no other options, you could wait potentially grab Meyers off waivers if Dorsett hits. However, I suspect there are better options on waivers if your roster is limited.
