Delanie Walker game-day status
The Titans announced their Week 7 inactives, and tight end Delanie Walker is ACTIVE for Sunday against the Chargers. If you’ve been waiting on this announcement to make your lineup decision, you can safely start Walker. It’s not a phenomenal matchup for the veteran tight end, but there’s some upside. The Chargers defense is hit or miss, more miss than hit last week against the Steelers. There is downside given the Titans messy quarterback situatIon. Ideally, Walker turns into a safety blanket for Ryan Tannehill and piles up the target volume.
The Tennessee Titans kick off at 4:05 p.m. against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7, and questions remain as to the status of tight end Delanie Walker. The veteran tight end is dealing with an ankle injury, and after limited workouts on Wednesday and Thursday, he was a DNP at Friday practice. Veteran rest days are usually on Wednesday, so this would suggest some issues with the ankle.
Walker had three receptions for 43 yards last week against Denver, and it’s been tough sledding for him in recent weeks. He had 16 receptions over the first three weeks of the season, but has only five on ten targets the last three weeks.
Fantasy football analysis, Titans TE Delanie Walker
If Walker is active, he’s a decent start against a middle of the pack Chargers defense. If he is inactive, you’re left with a late decision. If you have another tight end playing earlier, that player might be worth starting over Walker. If you don’t and could stash Walker on your IR spot once his status is known (or have a drop-able player), some options in the late slate include Josh Hill (Saints 4:25 p.m.) Dallas Goedert (Eagles SNF), Luke Willson (Seahawks 4:25), and Trey Burton (Bears 4:25). They’re not great options, but there is some upside to be had amongst them.
