UPDATE: Matt Breida is back on the sideline and able to return to play in the fourth quarter. This suggests he has been cleared by trainers and does not have a concussion.
The San Francisco 49ers are in a brutally ugly matchup in Washington, and if they’re going to win, they might have to do it without running back Matt Breida. He suffered a hit to the helmet in the third quarter of the game after a five-yard gain. He immediately went to the medical tent to get checked out and is being evaluated for a concussion.
While Breida is looked over, Tevin Coleman remains the 49ers starter, with Raheem Mostert serving as his backup. Jeff Wilson came on for a carry after Breida got hurt.
