The NFL reaches the halfway point for a host of teams this week as Week 8 is upon us. For traditional fantasy football leagues, that means the second half of the regular season is officially underway. Most leagues start their playoffs in Week 14, so we’re moving into the most important stretch of the calendar for the top teams in the league.
Week 8 brings us back to only two byes, but they’re a notable pair. The Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys are sidelined, and that means no Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Mark Ingram, Amari Cooper, and Mark Andrews, among others. This is good timing for rookie Marquise Brown who is looking to recover from an ankle injury.
We’ve got a host of injuries to sort through this week. The two biggest are Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson and Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. They are question marks with a knee and ankle injury, respectively. Meanwhile, we can say with some certainty that wide receiver Adam Thielen will not play and wide receiver Will Fuller likely will not play for a few weeks.
The week will feature plenty more news, injury and otherwise, and we’ll be tracking it all here. Feel free to bookmark this story stream and return for the latest news and analysis!
