The San Francisco 49ers have made a trade that has been speculated upon for the past week. The team is trading trading 2020 third and fourth round picks to the Denver Broncos for wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders and a 2020 5th-round pick. Broncos beat writer Mike Klis was the first to report the trade.
Sanders joins a 49ers wide receiver depth chart that includes Deebo Samuel, Marquise Goodwin, and Dante Pettis. None of the three has broken out and it has left George Kittle as the team’s leading receiver. Sanders becomes their top receiver and is a big upgrade to Jimmy Garoppolo’s options.
Fantasy football analysis
Sanders upgrades out of the Broncos offense. He’s not a strong No. 1, but he moves into must start status for the time being. We’ll want to see more of what he brings to the table, but the floor is pretty impressive for him. He’ll be available this weekend against the Carolina Panthers and should be in your lineup for the game.
In Denver, this means Courtland Sutton is the clear cut No. 1. He was already leading the Broncos in receptions and yards, and now he’ll get an even larger share of targets. The big winner in Denver would be DaeSean Hamilton, who will move into the starting lineup. Hamilton becomes an intriguing bye week option.
