Top 50 wide receivers in Week 8 standard leagues [UPDATE]

We’ve had two wide receiver trades in Week 8, with the Patriots and 49ers adding Mohamed Sanu and Emmanuel Sanders, respectively. We break down what it all means in our Week 8 wide receiver rankings for standard fantasy football leagues.

10/26 rankings update

Rankings have been updated to reflect the latest injury reports and the Thursday night players have been removed. Keenan Allen is a game time decision. He has been removed and Mike Williams has been moved up. Sammy Watkins looks ready to return for his Sunday night game and returns to the rankings. Phillip Dorsett has been added with Josh Gordon going to IR and Sterling Shepard has been removed.

Week 7 was in a word “odd” for wide receivers in fantasy football leagues. Marvin Jones, Zach Pascal and Alex Erickson all finished in the top 5. Many of the receivers that topped the rankings turned in mediocre or just bad fantasy performances. Let’s hope Week 8 brings back some normalcy.

Thankfully, there are only two teams on bye in Week 8, the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys. You’ll have to find replacements for Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and Marquise Brown. Unfortunately, there were a few key injuries. Adam Thielen is unlikely to play Thursday and Will Fuller is perhaps looking at a longer absence as both recover from hamstring injuries. Davante Adams, Sammy Watkins, Christian Kirk and Tyrell Williams all remain unranked until practice reports become available. Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley will be lowered in the rankings if Matt Ryan is unable to play.

We’ve also adjusted rankings for receivers finding new homes! Mohamed Sanu is now a New England Patriot and Emmanuel Sanders was traded to the San Francisco 49ers.

With Will Fuller out, Kenny Stills becomes a very intriguing start against the Oakland Raiders. I’m also not afraid of the Minnesota Vikings defense in regards to limiting Terry McLaurin’s production. The Vikings secondary can be beat and something tells me Washington will need to pass the ball plenty.
