It is impossible to describe the Chargers without using the word “disaster”. They lost their third game in a row on Sunday against the Titans, and in classic Charger fashion. Driving late with a chance to win the game out-right, Melvin Gordon fumbled the ball at the one yard line with 15 seconds left, costing the team the game. Speaking of Gordon, he has not played particularly well since coming back from his holdout, with no carries over seven yards, and two fumbles. Now that Forrest Lamp is out for the season with a broken fibula, the run game is even less likely to improve. Defensively, they have been horrendous, allowing the sixth-highest adjusted net yards per pass attempt on the year. Derwin James isn’t expected to be back for over a month. At 2-5, this team may have to start thinking about the future.

Chicago got Mitch Trubisky back for Week 7, but he was a detriment to the team against the Saints. Trubisky averaged just 4.6 yards per pass attempt, throwing for just 251 yards on a whopping 54 attempts. Chicago is 27th in adjusted net yards per pass attempt on the year, so this is not an anomaly. After winning 13 games and the AFC North in 2018, the Bears are in some trouble here in 2019. The NFC appears to be extremely competitive, with eight teams over .500, and the Bears are already three games back in the win column to the Packers in the North.
