The Sunday kickoffs for Week 8 are almost here, and it’s time to start plotting out your Week 8 DFS lineups. In Week 7, a lot of the usual suspects dominated, but we had some under-the-radar names step up in a big way to key folks to victory.
Obviously, you would love to fill your daily lineup with Pro Bowlers from top to bottom, but spending money on a top-tier player in one spot leaves you potentially scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.
So here are three tight ends that could provide the best value for Week 8. Values from DraftKings.

Austin Hooper (ATL) - $5,500
After the Atlanta Falcons traded Mohamed Sanu to the New England Patriots, it can only continue to benefit Austin Hooper as Matt Ryan will continue to look his way if his primary read, Julio Jones, is covered. At $1,700 cheaper than the most expensive tight end available this week, and with a favorable matchup against the Seattle Seahawks and the 3rd-worst defense against opposing tight ends, you can start Hooper with confidence this week.
Josh Hill (NO) - $3,200
If you’re looking to play it real cheap at tight end, look no further than Josh Hill of the New Orleans Saints. The Arizona Cardinals are the NFL’s worst at defending tight ends and it does not appear Jared Cook will be suiting up for the Saints on Sunday after missing practice all week. Josh Hill is primarily used as a blocker in the New Orleans offense, but Sean Payton is known to pull the trigger down the seam with Hill, and if Drew Brees returns... look out.
Evan Engram (NYG) - $5,300
Evan Engram has all of the potential in the world, as it’s just been a matter of quarterback play for the G-Men that has seemed to keep him short of reaching it. Still, he’s averaged the third-most fantasy points per game (minimum 4 games) at tight end in 2019. His 15.1 average is more than the likes of Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and Zach Ertz, and with a favorable matchup against the Detroit Lions this week - who just traded Quandre Diggs to the Seattle Seahawks - there’s no reason to think he can’t find similar success again this week.
