The Kansas City Chiefs will have wide receiver Sammy Watkins in the lineup this week when they play the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football this week. This will be the first time that Watkins has played since Week 5, leaving some question as to what role the Chiefs plan to play him in their game plan against Green Bay, especially with quarterback Patrick Mahomes out this week.
It was a hamstring injury that had Watkins on the sideline until this week. He was a full participant in practice this week, and was not listed at all on the final injury report.
Watkins is likely to slide back into his regular role as the second receiver after Tyreek Hill. Prior to being hurt, Watkins’ performance had slid a little after his huge game in Week 1. He hasn’t found the end zone since the opener and recorded only 54 yards on three catches in his last meaningful action in Week 4.
Fantasy football analysis, Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins
Watkins is back, but you might hold off before putting him in your lineup. Matt Moore is starting this week, and the Packers play a pretty tough pass defense. Tyreek Hill will always have value, no matter the opponent, because of the way they can deploy him, but Watkins and the others will find things more difficult this week.
