The NFL is wrapping up Week 8, with the Chiefs hosting the Packers on Sunday Night Football as of this publishing. We still have a shaky Monday Night Football matchup to play between the Dolphins and Steelers, but in the meantime, opening lines are starting to arrive for Week 9.
The 49ers and Patriots remain undefeated, each rolling through their respective opponents in Week 8. The 49ers open Week 9 with a Thursday Night Football matchup on the road against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are getting 7.5 points at home and aren’t sure if they’ll have Chase Edmonds or David Johnson in the backfield. Meanwhile, the Patriots travel to face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football and are laying four points.
An intriguing line is Jets-Dolphins, with the Dolphins only a 5.5-point favorite at home. There are not many chances for wins on Miami’s schedule, so this one will be an interesting one. Among the truly awful teams, Washington is getting the most points of any team this week, with the Bills installed as a 10.5-point home favorite.
We’ll have plenty more on the point spreads for Week 9, but in the meantime, here is what the opening lines are looking like at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the point total in parenthesis next to the favorite). We do not have the Packers-Chargers line yet while awaiting the result of Weke 8 SNF. The four teams on bye this week are the Falcons, Bengals, Rams, and Saints.
