Point spread, total, moneyline and more for Jets-Eagles in Week 5

The Jets are just trying to survive without former first round pick Sam Darnold, and now they get the Eagles coming off a big Week 4 win. We break down notable odds, including the point spread, prop bets, and ATS history.

The Jets are coming off their bye week at 0-3 with one of the worst point differentials in the league at -37. They have struggled greatly without Sam Darnold, losing each of their past two contests by a total of 36 points. Worst of all, it seems they may still not have him back for Week 5. Darnold is dealing with mono, and has still not been cleared for contact. The Jets will likely wait as long as they can before ruling him out, but if his body is still weakened from the illness, he would be at a far higher injury susceptibility. It seems most likely not worth the risk, even if Darnold does get cleared. That means we get another look at Luke Falk, who has a 3.83 adjusted net yards per pass attempt.

Philly was once thought to have one of the best roster in the NFL. Now a month into the season, it is difficult to be so sure. They are 2-2 with just a +5 point differential, a symptom of all of the close games the Eagles have played to start the year. And it isn’t due to strength of schedule. The teams Philly has faced are a combined 6-9-1. They are still a terrible pass defense, ranking 23rd in Football Outsiders’ pass DVOA, and it has led to the Eagles being the 10th-worst defense in terms of yards per play. They have also struggled offensively, averaging just 6.6 yards per pass attempt.
