Notable absent players during Week 6 byes

The NFL enters its third week of byes, and we start to see larger numbers of teams sidelined. Week 6 byes include the Bills, Bears, Colts, and Raiders. We break down the fantasy implications.

The NFL is just about through Week 5, but we have one last potentially fun matchup to close out the week as the San Francisco 49ers host the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football.

This weekend saw the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions sidelined with their byes. The first two bye weeks of the season had two teams sitting out each week. Week 6 brings a big change with four teams sitting out, and that means roster decisions get a little trickier.

Each week we’ll take a look at the notable players you’ll need to replace each week over these nine weeks. We had some big names the first two weeks, but a lot of bad players on the Dolphins and Jets roster. We have a solid mix of good and bad teams, and some significant fantasy football performers sidelined for the week.

The Bears and Raiders get the week off following the first London game of the year. For the Raiders, this sidelines breakout tight end Darren Waller and emerging rookie running back Josh Jacobs, but gives wide receiver Tyrell Williams a much-needed week off to get healthy. For the Bears, wide receiver Allen Robinson and running backs David Montgomery and Tarik Cohen are the biggest names sidelined.

The Bills bye week sidelines what has been a top ten defense. Additionally, John Brown and Frank Gore have been steady, if unspectacular fantasy options. For the Colts, Marlon Mack and T.Y. Hilton get a week to get healthier after being questionable heading into Week 5.
