Jalen Ramsey to return to practice in Week 6

Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey is expected back at practice on Wednesday of Week 6. He hasn’t played since Week 3 amidst a trade request. We break down the fantasy implications for the Saints matchup.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are headed out to practice Wednesday morning, and they announced that they expect cornerback Jalen Ramsey to take part. The team tweeted an expected injury report, with non-participants in bold. Ramsey was listed due to his back injury, but was not bold.

Ramsey suffered a back injury that cost him Weeks 4 and 5. This came amidst a trade request. It was rumored he might be dealt after the team’s Week 3 game against the Tennessee Titans, but it has yet to happen.

Fantasy football analysis, Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey, Saints receivers

It remains to be seen if Ramsey will actually play on Sunday, but his presence or absence requires adjusting expectations for Saints wide receivers. Michael Thomas is a must start no matter what, but his opportunity is that much better if Ramsey is sidelined. Ted Ginn gains a little value, but among receivers, Thomas is the only realistic starting option in fantasy football.

Teddy Bridgewater had a huge game last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and would benefit from Ramsey sitting in Week 6. The Jaguars will release their first official practice participation report Wednesday afternoon, so we’ll see if Ramsey is a limited or full participant.
