The Los Angeles Chargers have had players dropping like flies, but they are getting closer to getting a key offensive weapon back. Tight end Hunter Henry is returning to practice on Wednesday in limited fashion, according to beat writer Daniel Popper. The Chargers face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football in Week 6.
Henry has been out since suffering a tibia plateau fracture in Week 1. This marks his first return to the practice field during team drills after getting in some individual work in Week 5. Earlier in the week, head coach Anthony Lynn told the media Henry was starting to move well and there was a chance he could return this week, according to Chargers reporter Eric Williams.
Fantasy football analysis, Chargers TE Hunter Henry
We’ll need to see how the next two days of practice go, but Henry fantasy owners can start to get excited. There is no doubting Henry’s talent, but he has struggled to stay on the field. He missed all of last season before suffering the Week 1 injury. If he can get on the field, he’s a playmaker worth starting in fantasy football.
Virgil Green has been starting in place of Henry. I could see Henry being questionable or doubtful on the final injury report, but we’ll see what Thursday and Friday practice bring for Sunday Night Football.
