The Indianapolis Colts suffered a big blow this week as wide receiver T.Y. Hilton will sit in Week 9 due to a calf injury. He was listed as limited at Wednesday practice and DNP on Thursday. Head coach Frank Reich later told the media it is looking like a 3-4 week absence for Hilton, according to beat writer Zac Keefer.
Fantasy football analysis: Colts WR T.Y. Hilton
Zach Pascal has been starting opposite Hilton, with Chester Rogers coming off the bench as the third receiver. Parris Campbell and Ashton Dulin also got some snaps last week.
Pascal stands the most to gain among the wide receivers, but tight end Jack Doyle is a name to watch moving forward in the Colts passing attack. It’s been an up and down year for him, but this opens up plenty of targets that Hilton would normally dominate.
The Steelers rank right in the middle of the pack in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers, while giving up the eighth most points to tight ends. If you have a chance to start Doyle this weekend, he is looking like a worthwhile fantasy football waiver wire addition.
