Bengals to re-assess A.J. Green headed into Week 11

Bengals WR A.J. Green remains sidelined with torn ligaments. We break down the fantasy football implications of the latest report for Auden Tate and Alex Erickson heading into Week 11.

The Cincinnati Bengals ruled out wide receiver A.J. Green once again for Week 10, but they are not ready to shut him down for the year. The team will re-assess him heading into Week 11 and are not yet going to shut him down, per Tom Pelissero.

Green has been sidelined since tearing ligaments in his ankle back in July at the starting of training camp. He had surgery and has been in and out of practice. He got back to practice prior to the Bengals bye in limited fashion, but was ruled out. This past week, he had swelling in his ankle after a walkthrough and shut it down.

Fantasy football analysis: Bengals wide receivers

If you’ve held on to Green in fantasy football this long, you might as well wait for what Week 11 brings. If he does not get back to practice the next few days, it might finally be time to unload him. It seems more and more likely that he ends up on IR and shuts it down, but if the swelling goes down this week, then you can still stand to benefit.

In the meantime, Auden Tate and Alex Erickson retain some fantasy value in the short term. Tate starts outside opposite Tyler Boyd, while Erickson starts in the slot. If Green eventually returns, Boyd would move into the slot and Erickson would likely become the fourth receiver.
