Saquon Barkley banged up in atrocious Week 10 fantasy performance

Giants RB Saquon Barkley is struggling since returning from his high ankle sprain. The team’s Week 11 bye comes at a perfect time.

The New York Giants lost an entertaining shootout to the New York Jets in Week 10, but running back Saquon Barkley did not get to enjoy it very much. He got 13 carries on the day, but somehow only finished with one rushing yard. He added five receptions for 30 yards to finish with 8.10 DKFP.

After the game, head coach Pat Shurmur said that Barkley was banged up, but would not elaborate further. Barkley was spotted going in for x-rays following the game. The Giants head into their bye week in Week 11.

Fantasy football analysis: Giants RB Saquon Barkley

Barkley has struggled since returning from his high ankle sprain, averaging 2.58 yards per carry since returning in Week 7. He’s been a regular in the passing game, which is a big boost in PPR leagues and DFS. It’s bought some time for fantasy owners to hope he can get back on track sooner rather than later.

The bye comes at a perfect time for Barkley and the Giants. They face a rough stretch after the bye at Chicago, vs. Green Bay, and at Philadelphia, so this will be key to getting Barkley back closer to 100 percent. Wayne Gallman remains his primary backup and the name to watch if Barkley aggravated things in Week 10.
