The running back position was relatively quiet in Week 10. Overall, going cheap at this position seemed to be the route, as a number of cheap options came through. Week 11 has a fair share of expensive options to consider mixed in with some value. Let’s jump into how a couple of these players performed and how the matchup lines up in Week 11. Ronald Jones ($5,200) vs. New Orleans Saints

After being officially named the starter by Bruce Arians, Jones responded in Week 10 with 23.6 DKFP rushing the ball 11 times for 29 yards and a touchdown while also catching all eight of his targets for 77 yards. It was by far the highest fantasy output we’ve seen from Jones, surpassing the 16.2 DKFP from Week 9. In what used to be a messy backfield, Jones should continue to take the RB1 duties moving forward. With a huge week behind him, the buzz on Jones should continue to rise, which may not go well in Week 11.

Jones has a very tough matchup ahead against the Saints run defense that has been amongst the best in the league. After the loss to the Falcons, they are now allowing an average of 17.7 DKFP, 67 rushing yards and 30 receiving yards. None of these numbers exactly scream “must-play” when it comes to Jones in Week 11. While he is going to get the majority of the work, his $900 increase in salary really makes him an unattractive play on this slate. Wait one more week until Week 12, when he’s in a MUCH more favorable matchup against the Falcons.

Marlon Mack ($6,400) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Mack has really frustrated us as of late. In what should have been a fantastic matchup against the Dolphins, Mack came away with just 9.2 DKFP. He rushed the ball plenty, logging 19 carries for 74 yards but that was basically his game. He only saw one target which he caught for eight yards but not reaching the end zone once again killed any hope of a good game. In games where he hasn’t scored, Mack is averaging just 9.9 DKFP. For someone we’ve relied upon heavily in the past, Mack is starting to lose a ton of trust overall.

What’s encouraging about Week 11 is that Mack dropped $600 in salary ahead of the matchup against the Jaguars. This is a run defense that has allowed an average of 99 rushing yards, 35 receiving yards and eight total touchdowns. It’s likely that Jacoby Brissett will be back in the mix at quarterback, which will help the Colts stay in this game. Playing from behind against the Dolphins wasn’t the ideal game script for Mack, something they can hopefully avoid here in Week 11. With the consensus being as low as it can get on Mack, this could be a really good spot to get him at low ownership in a good matchup.
