The Cincinnati Bengals may be an atrocious football team, but running back Joe Mixon is showing signs of reviving his dormant fantasy football value. Although the Bengals were thumped in Week 10, Mixon finished the game with 114 rushing yards and 37 receiving yards on a career-high 32 touches. He finished with a season-high 20.1 DKFP.
The performance followed a Week 8 in which he had 17.1 DKFP before the team went on bye. He showed some life early in the season from Weeks 3-5 before struggling through the next two weeks.
It remains to be seen if Mixon is on the upswing, or if this is just another blip on the radar. He will assuredly receive plenty of work over the remaining seven weeks of the season. The Bengals benched Andy Dalton for rookie Ryan Finley, and any chance he has of surviving will require a big workload for Mixon.
The Bengals face the Oakland Raiders in Week 11. Oakland is right in the middle of the pack in fantasy points allowed to running backs, and they rank 11th in run defense efficiency. Mixon gets a sizable bump in salary, rising $800 to $5,500.
