The San Francisco 49ers entered the 2019 season with high expectations, albeit reduced from the previous year when they were everyone’s darling before Jimmy Garoppolo tore his ACL. While the 49ers moved back down the radar a little bit coming into 2019, tight end George Kittle remained firmly at the forefront.
Kittle put together a record-setting 2018 season, catching 88 passes and five touchdowns, with a record-setting 1,377 receiving yards. He emerged as one of the top two or three tight ends in fantasy football and was viewed as part of the top tier heading into 2019 with Travis Kelce and Zach Ertz.
He has dealt with a midseason injury, but otherwise it’s been another strong campaign for Kittle. He’s not finding the end zone quite as much, but he is on track for a career high in receptions. The big question will be what kind of target total Emmanuel Sanders takes away from him the back half of the season.
Kittle will be valuable regardless of Sanders. We’ll follow along throughout the season, breaking down his traditional and daily fantasy performances, prices, injury news, and more.
