Emmanuel Sanders status update
The 49ers have ruled Sanders OUT with the rib injury. He will miss the entire second half. Deebo Samuel, Marquise Goodwin, and Dante Pettis will serve as the 49ers top three receivers the rest of the way. After the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Sanders will get an MRI on his ribs on Tuesday.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders suffered a rib injury in the second quarter of Week 11 and is questionable to return. Sanders left the game midway through the quarter on a pass attempt from Jimmy Garoppolo. He grabbed for his rib before the pass was thrown and then walked off the field. He was subsequently spotted walking to the locker room under his own power with trainers.
Sanders had two catches for 24 yards when he went down with the injury. Deebo Samuel leads the team with three receptions for 53 yards. Kendrick Bourne has three receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown.
The 49ers passing game is now without its top two receiving options with tight end George Kittle inactive due to a knee injury. The 49ers are focusing on the ground game in the meantime, but with a slim lead over the Seahawks, they’ll likely need to find some plays in the passing game to get a win out of this game.
