The San Francisco 49ers suffered a big loss in Week 10 before they eventually lost to the Seattle Seahawks. In the second quarter, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders grabbed for his ribs midway through a play and quickly left to get evaluated. He was initially announced as questionable to return, but after halftime he was downgraded to out with a rib injury.
Following the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan told the media that Sanders would get an MRI on his ribs on Tuesday, per beat writer Nick Wagoner. The 49ers return to practice on Wednesday for their Week 11 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.
Fantasy football analysis: 49ers WRs Emmanuel Sanders, Deebo Samuel
Sanders left after only two receptions for 24 yards and it was Deebo who picked up the slack. Samuel finished the game with eight receptions for 112 yards and was targeted 11 times. Samuel showed necessary physicality, and willingness to go over the middle and find openings in the best performance of his rookie season.
We’ll know more about Sanders later tomorrow, but even if he is good to go this week, Samuel is worth a look on your waiver wire. He’s owned in less than ten percent of ESPN leagues, and that number is sure to shoot up next week in re-draft leagues.
