Emmanuel Sanders day-to-day, Matt Breida could miss a week or two with ankle injury

The 49ers could get one of their two injured playmakers back in Week 11. We break down the fantasy football implication on updates for Emmanuel Sanders and Matt Breida.

The San Francisco 49ers are hoping to have wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders back this week from his rib injury, but running back Matt Breida might miss a game or two due to an ankle injury. Sanders is day-to-day with a rib injury but no long term concern, per James Palmer, while Breida aggravated an ankle sprain and might miss a week or two, per Ian Rapoport.

Sanders injured his ribs late in the second quarter, grabbing at it as a pass play was developing. Breida injured his regularly problematic ankle in the second half. Neither returned. Deebo Samuel stepped up in Sanders’ absence, while Raheem Mostert is the Breida’s replacement when he has gotten hurt.

Fantasy football analysis: WR Emmanuel Sanders, RB Matt Breida

Sanders: He has emerged as a go-to target for Jimmy Garoppolo, and the 49ers offense struggled mightily once he joined tight end George Kittle on the sideline. Samuel looked strong, but the 49ers need their veteran pass catchers back on the field.

Breida: Tevin Coleman remains the starter, and the team has tremendous depth at the running back position. The primary backup, be it Breida or Mostert, has some value in deeper leagues, although Breida is generally a little more valuable as the backup than when Mostert has that role.
