James Conner cleared to start in Week 11

The Steelers will have their lead back in Week 11. We break down the fantasy football implications.

The Pittsburgh Steelers released their final injury report for Week 11 and running back James Conner is not on it. He completed a second straight day of full participation at practice and is officially cleared for the separated shoulder that cost him the team’s past two games.

Conner will get the start on Thursday Night Football against the Cleveland Browns, replacing Jaylen Samuels as the lead back. Samuels remains a key part of the passing game.

Fantasy football analysis: Steelers RBs James Conner, Jaylen Samuels

Benny Snell and Roosevelt Nix have been ruled out, which means Conner and Samuels will get virtually all the backfield work. The team has not announced specifics, but we can expect Conner to get the start and Samuels to get worked in on passing downs. Samuels is a decent start in PPR leagues, while Conner is a good start in all leagues. Cleveland has given up the tenth most fantasy points to running backs, and I would not worry about rust slowing Conner.
