Opening point spreads for November 14 NBA schedule

Kristaps Porzingis’ first trip back to The Garden since being traded to Dallas highlights Thursday’s six-game slate. We break down the opening lines and spreads.

If growing up in the Tri-State area has taught me anything about Knicks fans, it’s that Kristaps Porzingis is going to boo’d tonight. Like a lot.

After forcing his way out of New York and landing with Dallas, Porzingis will make his long-awaited return to Madison Square Garden. We should see a motivated revenge spot, plus Nationally televised TV game narrative for Kristaps. Both the Mavericks moneyline and Porzingis’ point total stand out.

As far as injuries are concerned, there are a few spots to monitor. The big name will be Nets PG Kyrie Irving (shoulder), who was listed as questionable on Wednesday for tonight’s game. If he’s out, Spencer Dinwiddie’s point total will be intriguing if offered on DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Heat are also on the betting slate, though may be left off the main DFS slate. Miami is dealing with a ton of injuries, most notably Justise Winslow (concussion), Goran Dragic (illness) and Tyler Herro (ankle). Winslow and Derrick Jones Jr. (hip) are listed as out and Herro and Dragic are questionable. James Johnson (illness) is likely to return.

Miami will take on Cleveland, which hung with the Sixers on Tuesday before losing by a hair. If the Heat are shorthanded again, the Cavs may have a fighting chance. If anything, look at the O/U and consider going under the point total.

Speaking of OVER/UNDER’s ... Hawks-Suns, amirite? If any game is going to be appealing (outside of maybe Clippers-Pelicans), it’s Atlanta vs. Phoenix. We get Trae Young vs. Devin Booker, which should be a laser show of 3-pointers. Both of those player props would be enticing, as well as the OVER granted it doesn’t climb too much over the course of the day.

Below are point spreads and the over/under for each of the seven games on schedule for tonight:

Heat @ Cavaliers (+4, 215) 6:00 p.m. ET
Clippers @ Pelicans (+5.5, 233.5) 8:00 p.m. ET
Bulls @ Bucks (-11.5, 230.5) 8:00 p.m. ET
Mavericks @ Knicks (+7.5, 215.5) 8:00 p.m. ET
Hawks @ Suns (-7, 228) 9:00 p.m. ET
Nets @ Nuggets (-9, 222.5) 10:30 p.m. ET

Note: Bets and DFS players will lock at those specific game times.
