The San Francisco 49ers were back at practice on Thursday, and once again, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders and running back Matt Breida both sat out practice. Running back Tevin Coleman was listed as a DNP, but he was excused for non-injury reasons.
Sanders (ribs) and Breida (ankle) both injured themselves on Monday against the Seahawks and head coach Kyle Shanahan said they were questionable for this week. Sanders was viewed as day-to-day, while one report had Breida potentially missing a week or two.
There was one big of good news for Sanders on Thursday. Beat writer Matt Barrows tweeted that Sanders was in pain on Wednesday but was on the field for the walkthrough portion of Thursday’s practice. That’s progress and suggests he could get a limited workout in on Friday. Barrows reported that Shanahan has said Sanders doesn’t need to practice in full to play on Sunday.
Fantasy football analysis: 49ers WR Emmanuel Sanders, RB Matt Breida
It’s safe to consider Breida a big question mark for Sunday and make alternate plans. However, if Sanders gets in a limited workout on Friday, it would suggest he is on track to play in Week 11 vs. the Cardinals. Prepare accordingly.
