Free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick is set to conduct a workout in Atlanta for a majority of NFL teams, but some last minute NFL shenanigans have resulted in a new location for the workout.
The workout was originally scheduled for the Atlanta Falcons facility. Kaepernick had requested the media be allowed in to provide for transparency on the event. The NFL refused his request and so Kaepernick has moved the workout to another facility in Atlanta, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
There was an additional issue regarding the kind of waiver Kaepernick would be expected to sign. He wanted a normal Pro Day waiver, while the NFL wanted a waiver with a clause about non-guarantee of employment, per Charles Robinson.
Kaepernick’s attorney’s released a statement on Saturday calling out the NFL for their nonsense.
Colin Kaepernick’s workout at the Falcons’ training facility at 3 pm is off; his workout now will be at another Atlanta location at 4 pm today.

There have been multiple narratives surrounding Kaepernick’s absence from the league. Some have suggested he might not want to play football, while others have said 2+ seasons removed, he’s probably not good enough anymore. Kaepernick and his representatives have pushed back on this while his detractors ignore basic facts.
The workout is now scheduled for 4:00 p.m., pushed back an hour due to the change. There are reportedly 24 teams that will be on hand with some kind of representation. I’m skeptical any of them eventually sign Kaepernick, but at least the quarterback is pushing back and not taking the NFL’s nonsense lying down.
