UPDATE: Marlon Mack has suffered a hand fracture, per Adam Schefter. He won’t play in Week 12, but his status beyond that is TBD.
The Indianapolis Colts thumped the Jacksonville Jaguars to get a key win in the battle for the AFC South. The Colts got 215 rushing yards between Marlon Mack and Jonathan Williams, and Jacoby Brissett did just enough in his return to secure a big 33-13 win.
The big news from the game was Mack leaving the game with a hand injury. It’s unclear when exactly the injury happened, but he was ruled out in the third quarter for the remainder of the game.
At the time of his departure, Mack had 14 rushes for 109 yards and a touchdown. Williams replaced him in the backfield and had a strong close to the game. He finished the game with 116 rushing yards on 13 carries and a 31-yard reception.
Mack will be a name to watch this week because if he misses time, it would appear Williams is the guy to own off the waiver wire. Nyheim Hines has some value in PPR leagues, but he is primarily a pass catcher. Jordan Wilkins would have been ahead of Williams, but he was inactive after not practicing all week due to an ankle injury. If Wilkins remains sidelined, Williams would appear to be the guy who would handle rushing down work.
Colts head coach Frank Reich will update the media on Mack’s status on Monday. That is critical information as you consider your waiver wire priority decisions.
