The Chicago Bears have made a quarterback change, at least for the fourth quarter of Week 11. Head coach Matt Nagy decided to sit Mitchell Trubisky and replace him with Chase Daniel in the closing minutes of the game. The score was 17-7 with 3:31 remaining when Daniel came in the game, which is very much a game still in reach.
The Bears subsequently reported that Trubisky was dealing with a hip injury. Make of that what you will. Trubisky had one strong drive in the game, but his overall numbers were poor. He completed 24 of 43 passes for 190 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
After the change came, Trubisky was standing on the sideline with a cap on. It doesn’t mean he is not injured, but given his struggles this year, it does leave us thinking to some extent. We’ll see how the coming week goes at practice once the team starts posting their practice participation reports.
