The Baltimore Ravens crushed the Houston Texans in a potential playoff preview, and quarterback Lamar Jackson added to his case for NFL MVP. He finished the game with 222 passing yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 86 yards.
The Week 11 matchup featured two of the top three teams in the AFC, with a first round bye firmly at stake. It started out tight in the first quarter, but turned into a laugher in short order. Jackson threw two touchdown passes in the second quarter to give the Ravens a 14-0 lead, and they never looked back. Texans quarterback DeShaun Watson suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter that appeared to slow him down, and he had the worst game of his career.
Heading into Week 12, Jackson is now the DraftKings Sportsbook favorite to win the MVP award. He and Russell Wilson entered Week 11 tied at +225, but now Jackson is at +170. Wilson was on bye but still saw his odds improve to +200. Aaron Rodgers was on a bye as well and Watson had an awful game which narrows the race down to those two quarterbacks. Rodgers and Watson sit at +900.
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs face the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football, so that will be something to track before Week 12. Mahomes is next on the odds list at +1200. If he helps guide the Chiefs to a win in Mexico City tonight, I would not be surprised to see him move into a tie with Watson and Rodgers.
Week 12 brings big matchups for both Jackson and Wilson. The Ravens travel to face the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football, while the Seahawks travel to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
