The Kansas City Chiefs got a huge win in Week 11, beating the Los Angeles Chargers 24-17 on Monday Night Football in Mexico City. The Chiefs improve to 7-4 and hang onto their lead over the Oakland Raiders in the AFC West. The Chargers drop to 4-7 and their playoff hopes suffer a huge blow.
The Chiefs offense got going in the second half, but Philip Rivers is the reason the Chargers lost this game. He threw for 353 yards and a touchdown, but he finished the game with four interceptions including a back-breaker into the end zone in the closing seconds of the game.
This game marked only the third time in his career Rivers has thrown four interceptions. He did it in 2016 at home against the Miami Dolphins and at home in 2013 against the Denver Broncos. Plenty has changed in that time, and one has to wonder when he’ll decide he’s washed up and ready to call it a career.
The Chargers and Chiefs both head into their bye in Week 12. The Chiefs will look to get healthy, while the Chargers will simply look to regroup and figure out what’s going wrong.
