Week 11 of the NFL has gone the way of the Dodo as we’re speeding ahead to watch Week 12 waddle into the sunset. Below you will find some defense/special teams pickups for Week 12 to help you on your way to the fantasy football playoffs. This week we have four teams on bye and will be without the services of the Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Minnesota Vikings. None of these have been powerhouse defenses, but it does narrow down our possible matchup plays once again.

We’ll take a look at players who are available in the majority of ESPN fantasy football leagues. There aren’t any high FAAB adds this week, but there’s a chance you’ll need a bye replacement, so make sure you have your ducks in a row before waivers run.

Atlanta Falcons (1.9 percent) vs. Buccaneers

The Falcons have turned up their defense to 11 over the last couple weeks, as they’ve shut down the Saints and the Panthers. This week they get a matchup at home against an actual turnover machine in Jameis Winston. The Falcons pass defense is weak, but that never stops Winston from giving the ball away multiple times.

Cleveland Browns (29 percent) vs. Dolphins

The Browns put up great numbers against Mason Rudolph last week but also lost their best defensive player to suspension. The good news is that they’ll be home again, and Ryan Fitzpatrick comes to town. Fitzpatrick isn’t a slam dunk big D/ST game of late, but a tiger can’t change his stripes, and Fitzpatrick can’t change his gunslinger mentality.

Denver Broncos (17.2 percent) @ Bills

The Broncos defense played well for a half in Minnesota before letting the game slip away, but overall, they’ve been a strong defense under Vic Fangio this season. Josh Allen continues to put up good fantasy numbers, but he’s never going to be a Drew Brees type of passer. He’ll sail multiple passes a game, and it just depends on if the defense can bring them in.

Oakland Raiders (32.3 percent) @ Jets

The Raiders defense has played better of late, and if they were in Oakland, I’d feel better about them against Sam Darnold and company. As it is, they make for a low upside streamer against a mistake-prone Darnold.

Detroit Lions (7.6 percent) @ Washington

The Lions defense was scorched by Dak Prescott and company but should have a better time of it against a Washington team that has trouble scoring points of any kind. Dwayne Haskins made some decent throws against the Jets last week, but he has little to no offensive line.
