The Sunday kickoffs for Week 9 are almost here, and it’s time to start plotting out your Week 9 DFS lineups. In Week 8, a lot of the usual suspects dominated, but we had some under-the-radar names step up in a big way to key folks to victory.
If you find good value elsewhere in your DFS lineup, that affords you the luxury of ponying up for a premium player at a different position. If you’re able to spend a little more money on a player, who not make it the quarterback position?
So here are three best quarterback plays over $6,000 that could provide the best value for Week 8. Values from DraftKings.
Russell Wilson (SEA) - $7,100
Russell Wilson might be the most expensive quarterback available in daily fantasy this week, but he has one of the best matchups of the week as the Seattle Seahawks are hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NFL’s third-worst defense against opposing quarterbacks. Jameis Winston of the Bucs has had an issue turning the ball over, so this could very well be a situation where Seattle is able to jump out to an early lead and Winston keeps putting the ball back into Russell Wilson’s hands.
Kirk Cousins (MIN) - $6,700
All it took was Adam Thielen openly criticizing his quarterback and Stefon Digg’s unrest going public for Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings to start attacking opposing defenses through the air. Kirk Cousin, who threw for less than 100 yards in Minnesota Week 1 win over the Atlanta Falcons, has thrown for at least 275 yards in each of the last four weeks. Even with Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs still have an electric offense under Andy Reid, so the Vikings and Chiefs could be airing the ball out all game long.
Matthew Stafford (DET) - $6,800
The injury to Kerryon Johnson has hurt the Detroit Lions offense, but it’s done wonders for Matthew Stafford’s numbers. Stafford has thrown for seven touchdowns total the last two weeks, and his matchup against the Oakland Raiders and the 26th-ranked pass defense makes him look even more intriguing. Stafford’s 22.4 is over the likes of Mahomes and Tom Brady, and he could very well pass his season’s average with a strong showing against Jon Gruden’s Raiders.
